We could not expect anything else from Japan on our first nights. The Kazariya guesthouse in Kyoto It is a traditional Japanese cottage that we really loved! We spent the first four nights of our adventure there in the country of the rising sun and as a first contact was not bad at all!

Best of all is your traditional style, which coincides perfectly with the city where it is located: Kyoto! It is a wooden house with several floors and compartments that transports you to Japan from another century.

Although for the first experience sleeping in Japan we prefer a room with bed, instead of futon. Little by little! Our room, the only one of this style, was not very large (we already know the issue of dimensions in Japanese houses) but very flirtatious, well decorated and very comfortable. Although, the windows faced a busy street, although it did not harm us at bedtime. It had air conditioning and wifi throughout the accommodation.

For those who go with a more limited budget or go alone have a bedroom with several bunk beds (yes, only for girls!).

There's also traditional japanese rooms, with his futon and his tea table. On the top floor there were two and on the bottom floor one with direct access to the garden.

Oh the little garden, cool! It is a corner where peace and harmony reign. And of course, you could not miss the tea house, where to practice the typical tea ceremony, talk with other travelers or meditate in the morning.

There is bathrooms shared for all guests, with shampoo and soap for free use. If there are not many people at the time you stay and you have time, you can take a relaxing bath in very hot waters that will leave you new! Be careful with this, that if you go over you can get dizzy!

But if we really loved something it was the kitchenette. It seemed to us taken from a movie of Studio Ghibli, set in Japan several decades ago. Every detail surprised us and the set fell in love! The perfect place to prepare a tea in the morning and plan the route of the day or to rest at night before going to sleep.

The location The Kazariya guesthouse is optimal, about 15 minutes from the train station and next to an important road. There are some temples nearby that can be visited on foot and several bus stops for farther destinations, in addition to the Gojo metro stop. Nearby there is a little woman who sells bentos for ¥ 350 and several Japanese fastfoods (in addition to the MacDonald for which she does not want so much contrast in such a short time!) And a supermarket. There is also a public toilet (sento), a few minutes walk (costs ¥ 410)

The staff He behaved great, they treated us super well and helped us in our trip planning. There we also bought the bus pass and they gave us some mapitas and more info.

We definitely recommend it as accommodation in Kyoto. Good pretty and cheap!
