Barcelona only has one airport: the El Prat airport, so it makes things a lot easier when planning a trip to the Catalan capital. You will not have to take a master's degree in engineering to know how to get to Barcelona from El Prat airport. But to help you, we leave you all the options, we are that majetes 😉

Eye: Barcelona airport - El Prat is divided into two terminals (T1 and T2), separated by about 4 km. To go from one to another there are free buses continuously and throughout the day and night. It takes about 15 minutes to make the tour.

The T2 is the one that has the train station, while the buses and the subway reach both T1 and T2.

The new metro lineL9 Sud connects Barcelona airport (Ti and T2) with the University Zone in 32 minutes. It is not interesting if you are traveling to the center of Barcelona, as you will have to make changes of lines. The connections with other metro lines are at these stations: Torrassa (L1), Collblanc (L5) and University Zone (L3).

The price of a special single ticket for this line is from 4,60€. You can also use the Hola Barcelona card that you can pick up at the airport itself and allows you to use the entire Barcelona transport network unlimitedly for a certain period (2, 3, 4 and 5 days). You will not be able to use the T-10 ticket.

The schedule It is from Monday to Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturdays from 5:00 a.m., it has a continuous schedule all day long, and Sundays until 24:00 a.m.

For us the best option without a doubt. From the T2 of the Airport of El Prat the trains leave the R2 Nord line of Rodalies Direct towards the center of Barcelona. It stops at El Prat de Llobregat, Bellvitge, Sants Station, Passeig de Gràcia or El Clot-Aragó. The journey to Sants Station is 19 minutes and to Passeig de Gràcia 26 minutes.

The price of a single ticket is from 4,20€, although we recommend you get one T-10 card from an area that costs € 10.20 and has 10 trips on the different urban transport in Barcelona (so the price per trip is 1,02€). And the best thing is that it is a multipersonal card, so it can be used simultaneously by several people. You can take it out on the ticket machines that are just before the access lathes to the tracks.

The schedule The train leaving from the airport is from 6:08 to 23:38, with a frequency of 30 minutes (departs at: 08 and at: 38). The first departing from Sants Station is at 5:13 and the last at 23:14. The frequency of passage is also 30 minutes (leaves at: 09 and at: 39). Here you have all the schedules.

There are two options that you have if you want to get to the center of Barcelona from El Prat airport by bus: urban buses and the airport express line (Aerobus).

The line 46 Bus connects the airport (T1 and T2) with the Plaza de España. The schedule is from 04:50 to 23:50, with a frequency of 15 minutes. It takes a total of 45 minutes to 1 hour and the price of a single ticket is 2,20€ (although you can use the T-10). More information and map of line 46.

There is also a night version, they are the line N16 (which connects Plaza Cataluña with T2), theline N17 (from Plaza Cataluña to T1) and the line N18 (which passes through both T1 and T2 to Plaza Cataluña). The schedule is from 23:00 to 5:00 with a frequency of 20 minutes. The price is equal to 2,20€ and the journey takes approximately 1 hour.

The Barcelona Aerobus It has two lines: line A1 (until T1) and the line A2 (until T2). Both depart from Plaza Cataluña and make stops at Plaza de España, Gran Via-Urgell, and Plaza Universidad. Circulates every 5-10 minutes from 05:00 until 00:30 approx. It takes about 35 minutes and the price is 5,90€. You can buy it in advance here.

The paths of cab between El Prat airport and the center of Barcelona it costs between€ 30 and € 35. The price depends on the origin (T1 or T2) and the destination, applying the official rates that you can find here. Keep in mind that there is a supplement for airport, night and suitcase. The journey time will be 20 or 30 minutes.

Recently the use of VTCs in Barcelona has been banned asUber or a Cabify.
