Perth It is the typical city that in life we had planned to visit and ta-dan, here we are. One day, looking at flights in Chiang Mai, we saw that there was a very tempting offer: Bali-Perth for about € 80. I don't know how to talk anymore ... we're leaving for Australia! Yes, we are so hard to convince. And here, in this city bathed by the Indian Ocean and blessed by 144 days of sunshine a year, we begin a journey that will take us to travel thousands of kilometers through the Land Down Under.

But let's go step by step and focus on what concerns us: if you are looking for things to see and do in Perth, we are going to give you 20 ideas, so take note.

1. There are some interesting buildings scattered around the city center, but you can't miss the St Marys Cathedral and the facade of the building of Salvation Army.

2. If, like us, the markets freak you out, in Perth you will be delighted as there are so many. One of the best is the Perth City Farmers Market (Saturdays: 8am - 12pm), where there are a few stalls that sell organic fruit and vegetables. A whole explosion of colors.

3. Go to Kings Park and Botanic Garden to be surrounded by nature and beautiful views of the city (if you like photography, here you can take a memorable snapshot). It is one of the largest urban parks in the world!

4. And if you like green spaces within cities, there are a few in Perth. Our favorites: the Central park and the Queens gardens.

5. You can't miss a day trip (or more, if you have time) to Rottnest island, the island of quokkas, beautiful marsupials and lovers of XD selfies. Just remember not to feed them! Soon we will publish a post about our visit to Rottnest Island.

6. Spend a day, or even an afternoon, on one of Perth's most famous beaches: Cottesloe. From here, in addition, the sunsets are very cool.

7. Other highly recommended and easily accessible beaches are: Leighton, Scarborough Y Swanbourne. Of course, remember to put on sunscreen (and more than once) since the sun in Australia hits harder than anywhere else.

8. Walk through Elizabeth Quay and enjoy its atmosphere between restaurants and good views. Do not forget to cross the bridge to get one of the best views of the city.

9. And if you want to have a beautiful and different view of Perth, take a Swan river cruise.

10. If you feel like learning more about the city, you can sign up for a free tour. More info.

11. Visit the nearby Freemantle, a lovely little town where you can try some delight in the local market or take a tour of its famous jail (or sleep in it ... as we did!). Freemantle is only 30 minutes from Perth and for us it is an essential visit.

12. One of the neighborhoods that we found most interesting was Northbridge, of ambientillo hipster is full of restaurants, locals and is the center of Perth night.

13. Take advantage of special deals for lunch and dinner and the happy hours to drink. You find offers like the Gramercys at 15AUS to eat (plus 5AUS for a good beer) or the 6AUS pints of beer from Rosie O'Gradys (from 17 to 18).

14. Approach the Bell tower, one of the most emblematic buildings in Perth, which has 18 bells and a less curious architecture.

15. Visit some of the free museums in the city, As the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, theState Library of Western Australia, wave Art Gallery of Western Australia

16. Without forgetting the Perth Cultural Center, the perfect place for those who love art and culture. It includes museums, theater, library ... come on, it's a place where you're not going to get bored, and free!

17. You can also visit the Aboriginal Art Gallery and get in touch with one of the most incredible civilizations in the world. More info.

18. The Heirrison Island, an islet in the middle of the Swan River, is another perfect stop in Perth and the ideal place to see for the first time the Australian animal par excellence: the kangaroo! Here there is a reserve of kangaroos released, although they usually leave in the afternoon. It is about 4 km from the city center ... amazing but true.

19. Tour the city in bus for free! There are 4 lines that pass through the different neighborhoods, so if you have some free hours or need some air conditioning, we don't see a better plan!

20. You already know that we love to explore cities in search of urban art and Perth has a few surprises. The two streets where we freaked the most were Wolf Lane and Grand Lane. If you also like street art do not miss this website.

These are some of the things to see and do in Perth. You have been? What did you like most?
