I hope it doesn't touch you, but there is always a small, tiny, microscopic possibility that, during your dream trip, there will be at least one rainy day in New York. We touch wood and do the sun dance so that this does not happen. Still and just in case just * knocks on wood, again * today we are going to tell you a few things what to do in New York if it rains (or it's cold from the fuck).

- Visit a Museum. Or two, or three. Or those that you want, it will be for museums in New York! Also, do not think that you are going to leave the pasture of life, if you travel to New York it is very likely that you have made a tourist pass (yes, they agree!) In which the tickets to some of the best museums are included from the city. And if not, we will always have the great offers of "pay as you wish". Not to mention the days of free museums. Of all this, you will find info here in this article of the best museums in New York (coming soon)

- Kick Midtown Manhattan. There are many things to do without getting wet (not too much, at least). For example, you can visit the Grand Central Terminal, the Public Library, the St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Chrysler's lobby, and of course you can enter legendary stores like Tiffany or the M & M's (yum!). Here we tell you what to see and do in Midtown Manhattan.

- Go to the cinema. Surely there is a premiere that you want to see in an ultra modern room, or on the contrary alternative cinema in a more modest independent cinema but with roll. Believe us: going to the movies in another country is always an experience! Of course, in the United States cheap, what is said cheap, is not (calculates between $ 15 and $ 25 depending on the cinema and the time chosen).

- Sign up for the tour of contrasts. For us it is one of the best things to do in New York, so we recommend it on any trip to the Big Apple, rain, shine or make a warmth of justice. With this half-day tour, you will get to know less touristy but more authentic areas of New York, such as the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. You can book the tour here.

- Attend a hockey or basketball game. Actually baseball is the most popular sport in New York, but the stadiums are open and rainy day is not the best plan. So the alternative is to go to one of these two stages: Madison Square Garden in the heart of Manhattan, where the New York Rangers (NHL) and New York Knicks (NBA) Or the Barclays Centerin Brooklyn, home of the New York Islanders (NHL) and of the Brooklyn Nets (NBA). Tickets are available from about $ 50 and, in addition to the game, it is best to live the setting that is mounted. Keep in mind that the season in both cases runs from September to May approx.

- Get on the free ferry that goes to Staten Island. You can see almost the nose hairs to the Statue of Liberty without getting wet, and the best, without spending a $. Here we tell you other free plans in New York.

- Or to the tourist bus. The views may not be the best, but you will have a guide (or audio guide) telling you a thousand curiosities about New York. We recommend this plan for those who do not have many days in New York and therefore can not afford to "lose" one of them from the rain. You can book your ticket here, although you will find many vendors in the most tourist areas of the city (especially in Times Square).

- Eat. And baby. Well, yes, take the opportunity to go to that place that, they say, makes the best burgers in New York, or to have a coffee in a place in the city, or to try an American barbecue! Or take advantage of the "specials" and "happy hours" to toast with a good, beautiful and cheap beer. Or go do a pizza tasting. Or ... well, you understand me. The offers are unlimited. And if you're worried about spending a lot of money, check out this post where we recommend cheap restaurants to eat in New York.

- And keep drinking. It is not that we want to encourage alcoholism, there is simply a good alternative plan to enjoy a rainy day in New York that the most brewers will like: a beer factory tour The Brooklyn Brewery, which brews in the Williamsburg neighborhood since 1988, and offers free tours on weekends. Do not forget your passport!

- Go shopping. Personally it would be the last option on this list ... we are not very fans of shopping, let alone in New York. However there are thousands of people who enjoy looking for bargains (and not so bargains) in stores. But it is clear that if it rains in New York, shopping is a good alternative. In fact there are up shopping tours for the New York outlets, look! And write this name: 21st century, where a few chollazos are waiting for you.

- Enjoy a musical on Broadway. It's not the cheapest activity in New York (unless you don't win the Broadway lottery as we hehe, yes, we have to make a post on the subject!), but it is certainly one of the most fun. In addition, it is a dream traveler! It really deserves every dollar spent. Check out the Broadway musicals on the billboard and book your armchair.

- Pamper yourself in a SPA. When Cristina of Travel in my backpack he was in New York, he put on my teeth sooo long with his picture from the pool of the SoJo Spa Club. The price in low season and daily is $ 50, and in addition to staying new, the views are priceless!

- Get to the neighborhood of Astoria by subway. You don't even need to get off: what we recommend is the same subway ride, one of the most beautiful in the New York network. Especially the return, from Astoria to Manhattan, the views are a real pass!

- Ice skating. Yes, even in August. You may not be able to do it on the famous Rockefeller track, but there are options, for example in the ChealseaPiers. It costs $ 20 (includes skate rental).

- Sign up for an Escape Room. There are many and they are super fun, especially if you travel with friends.

- Get excited at a Gospel Mass. Although they are usually held on Sunday mornings and the best place to attend is the Harlem neighborhood, we find other churches that celebrate these lively liturgies in other places and also on Wednesdays.

Consider taking a helicopter tour. Not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo, of course 😉 Very cheap is not, but they are € 200 well spent if you like to take photos and want to live an unforgettable experience. The only bad thing (like the joke I'm about to make, notice) is that time will pass ... flying. You can book the helicopter ride over New York here.

- And finally an extra: buy an umbrella and do not be scared by 4 drops. It is rain, not sulfuric acid! You always have to look at the positive side: surely the tourist sites will be almost empty and you can enjoy the main attractions of New York practically alone.

And with any luck, if it stops raining you can have these views 🙂

Do they come to mind more things to do in New York with rain?
