During the years I lived in Padova, I was able to experience little local cuisine. As a good student, the only (and little) money he had invested in spritz and beers. And having a study grant, I ate for free in the university message. Peeeeeero, luckily, I have a few friends who stayed to live in this beautiful city of Veneta and have recommended me a few restaurants to eat in Padua (and cheap, of course).

It is a simple restaurant, where they prepare typical italian dishes. Good value for money: for about € 7-10 you eat well! Tip: the tiramisu is dead.

Great place where every day there is a different menu. He proposes typical dishes of the gastronomy of the Veneto region. The first dishes range from € 5 to € 7, the second from € 7 to € 10. If you are lucky it can touch you pasta and fasoi (pasta and beans), baccalá alla vicentina (cod) orbigoi with ragú di gallina (pasta with chicken ragout). But believe us, all the dishes are great.

It is located in Piazza delle Erbe and this small place prepares the tramezzini richest in the galaxy (Word of my dear friend Lelly). Tramezzini € 2, spritz € 3.5. Perfect to make a stop after so many things to see and do in Padova and snack. Our favorites: the speck and fontina (smoked ham and cheese), the smoked bacon, egg and grana and the porchetta and zucchini.

This site caught me on my way to university, so you can imagine that on several occasions I piqued and ohhh, that rich are your focaccias! There are all kinds (even vegetarians), so if you want to eat something fast and cheap (2-3 € approx) and you are in Portello area, do not think about it.

Via del Portello, 95

At first glance it looks like a seafood stall, but it is much more: it is an entire Padova institution. With quality products and delicious flavors, he has fallen in love with students, housewives and office workers. Prices: € 3.5 100 grams.

Piazza della Frutta (only from 16 to 21)

What are the Bigoi? They are a kind of paste similar to thick spaghetti. And here your thing is to try those that are prepared with duck ragout (€ 6.5). It is a franchise chain and the truth is it is pretty good. Of course, it is an option that we recommend if the day is good and you want to catch something to take and make a picnic. The best place to stand? Prato della Valle is a good option.

Probably the best place in Padova where drink a good prosecco and chop some cheese and sausages. If you want to enjoy a "snack" or just have a light dinner surrounded by a good atmosphere ... it's your place.
