Day 1: LLORET DE MAR - BARCELONA (HOTEL LE MÉRIDIEN): Las Ramblas de Barcelona - Paseo de Gracia

Today we could say that it is a Friday like any other, differing in that at noon, after eating in one of our usual restaurants, we will take the car to go to enjoy Barcelona on a weekend. This would not be too strange either telling that we are going to the city, the difference is that this weekend we invite you to two of its most emblematic hotels such as Le Méridien Barcelona and W Barcelona.
After just over 60 minutes on the highway we are entering Plaza Cataluña and going down the Ramblas of Barcelona to reach the parking lot of Le Méridien, our accommodation in Barcelona tonight.
After leaving the car and at the reception, Ana, PR Manager of the hotel comes to our meeting, to make us a guided tour of Le Méridien Barcelona, a hotel that has fallen in love with us from the first moment we have set foot in it And it is one of those places where, without knowing very well why, you feel at home.

With a perfect combination of design, services and customer service, Le Méridien Barcelona, located on the Ramblas of Barcelona, is the ideal accommodation if you want to be in the city center.
After this guided tour, see what our room will be tonight and have a cocktail at Le Pop Cocktail, we leave the hotel ready to enjoy an afternoon-evening in the Ramblas of Barcelona and Paseo de Gracia.

Las Ramblas de Barcelona, one of the best known areas of the city and one of its most important arteries, with 1.3 kilometers from the Plaza de Cataluña to the port, is one of our favorite areas of the city, not only for what they mean for Barcelona, if not for everything we can find in them. From street performers, to countless shops where to buy a different souvenir from the city, taste a nougat or savor an ice cream to the countless terraces where we can sit to see the comings and goings of tourists.

The Ramblas of Barcelona

After a brief walk through the area, we cross Plaza Cataluña, very lively on Saturday and we pass to Paseo de Gracia, another of the arteries of Barcelona where we can find the most luxurious brand stores, comparing with the Champs Elysées of Paris or the Fifth Avenue in New York, if not also two of the most visited and best known points of the city, La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
Casa Batlló, located on Paseo de Gracia, 43 is one of Gaudí's great works, a key piece of modernism in Barcelona.

The Batlló House in Barcelona

The visiting hours of Casa Batlló It is from 9 in the morning to 9 at night and the price of admission is 20 euros per person, which will allow you to enter the amazing world of Gaudí.
After delighting in one of the most beautiful facades of Barcelona, we advance along Paseo de Gracia until we reach La Pedrera, another of the great icons of the city.

La Pedrera of Barcelona

La Pedrera or Casa Mila It is a modernist building, also created by Gaudí, between 1906 and 1912.
One of the most important and striking parts of La Pedrera is its rooftop, where chimneys and ventilation towers simulate impressive warriors.
From here you have a very different perspective of Barcelona than we usually contemplate of the city.

Barcelona is especially beautiful at night, when the sun goes down and the streets light up, giving way to that space of time in which it seems that the city dresses up.
This is especially noticeable in Paseo de Gracia, where many of its buildings show off their best clothes at nightfall.
Being more than 9 pm we start again the road to Le Méridien Barcelona, since tonight we have a very special appointment in your CentOnze restaurant, with a gastronomic offer devised by Eugeni Cortés.

The style of its cuisine is Mediterranean, made with seasonal products.
With a letter in which it is quite difficult for us to choose, everything looks great, we have just decided on a tomato tartare from the garden, mozzarella and anchovies for 7.50 euros and some brave potatoes and grilled octopus main course with caramelized pineapple, potato parmentier and paprika oil for 21 euros and grilled salmon, vegetable wok with fondant potatoes and tartar sauce for 17 euros.

Having dinner at CentOnze in Le Méridien Barcelona

For dessert, despite being almost full, although for that you can always make a hole, we ask for a selection of mini desserts (Catalan cream, chocolate cream, mascarpone-berries, financière) for 6 euros.
After charging energy and enjoying a pleasant dinner, with background music, which makes, if possible, the place more pleasant and two coffees, it is almost 12 at night when we return to our room to rest to face tomorrow, a full day of activities.
