Panoramic view of Monument Valley - United States

If you are planning a trip along the west coast of the United States, you will almost certainly include in your route the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, it is a totally essential visit.

Now, there are other national parks that if you especially like nature, they will offer you beautiful and, in many cases, spectacular landscapes.

Somewhat removed from the most common routes along the west coast, although not far from the Grand Canyon, is Monument Valley, which on my trip along the west coast I had the opportunity to visit from the mentioned Grand Canyon.

I'll give you next 3 reasons why you should visit the Monument Valley.

1.- The Monument Valley It presents you with very peculiar landscapes, semi desert, with its large mountainous plateaus up to 200 meters high. And although you have seen them many times in photos, I can assure you that the immensity of these landscapes is not appreciated until you are before them.

Something similar to what happens when you arrive at the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, whose immensity is indescribable.

2. - The Monument Valley it is a park of the Navajos Indian Reservation, and when you go to visit it you have to travel a good part of this reservation. This will allow you to have a vision of how these American Indians currently live, because you will see them in the small towns and in all the establishments of the route.

3.- If you are fond of Western films, he Monument Valley It is undoubtedly one of the mythical places. From the viewpoint of the Hotel View, next to the Visitor Center, you can remember the landscapes of mythical films such as Ford Apacheby John Ford.
