One of the main reasons that took me many years ago to ski is the enjoy the great snowy landscapes.

But to enjoy these landscapes you don't need to know how to ski. This is what he says Switzerland this 2012-2013 season, by offering us the possibility of hiking, touring those beautiful snowy landscapes, but also towns of great beauty.

For this winter Switzerland offers 5,100 kilometers of trails properly conditioned and signposted, which are distributed throughout the Swiss geography, as a complement to its ski resorts.

If you really want to enjoy this winter activity, complement of skiing, on the official website of Switzerland you will find detailed information with the 36 winter hiking trails.

These rides run for very different landscapes. So you can take a romantic walk through the Lake Geneva region, or a high ride through the oldest larch forest in Europe in the Rhone Valley. Or there is also a route that goes from First to Grindelwald, next to the north face of Mount Eiger.

Of each of the proposed routes, on the web you have all the necessary information to choose the one that best suits your preferences. So, in addition to a map, you have the information on how to get there, usually by train; the distance and estimated duration of the route; the technical and physical level required to make the route; the profile of it, and all its features. In addition, you can see a map in 3D, through Google Earth.
